Values & Ethos
Pinchmill Primary is a Values School
Our Pinchmill Primary School Family Ethos and values.
“Pupils, and their parents, appreciate the school’s nurturing environment. Pupils live up to the school’s values of ‘Respect, Responsible and Ready’. They learn to be considerate of others' needs. The caring ethos evident throughout the school ensures that pupils feel safe. They willingly take responsibility for themselves, their peers and the school. Pupils feel proud to take up leadership positions, such as in the school council.” (OFSTED Nov 2023)
At Pinchmill Primary School we strongly believe that when a child feels happy, safe and secure, they will thrive. We offer a nurturing family environment which provides each child with the care, stability and respect needed to make them to feel safe and settled, enabling them to flourish. We make it a priority to nurture strong, genuine and meaningful relationships with all our children and their families. This ensures that we provide each child with a positive and effective school experience, respecting them as individuals and ensuring that they feel a valued member of our Pinchmill family.
We recognise that every child is an individual and will therefore all learn in their own way. We understand that not all children will learn on the same day in the same way. We aim to meet the needs of all our children and involve them in planning and providing them with the best school experience and learning journey possible. We champion and embrace the need to support our children to develop strategies to manage their own well-being, personal, social and emotional needs. We value the development of the ‘whole child’ to enable them to be happy and excel in all they do.
“Pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, the school provides effective support. These pupils learn to manage their emotions and behaviour effectively.” (OFSTED Nov 2023)
Our school offers endless opportunities and experiences that excite, inspire which lead to high levels of engagement and achievement.
‘EXCITE, INSPIRE, ENGAGE AND ACHIEVE’
Our desire is that every child will leave Pinchmill Primary School equipped with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to have choices and opportunities in the future. That every child is a confident reader and communicator. That they will independently desire to continue with their learning journey, empowered to aspire to greatness and make their distinct mark on the world.
To do this we provide a broad, balanced and sequential curriculum that is rich in knowledge and develops intellect and maximises potential, whilst also providing memorable learning experiences designed to excite, inspire and engage the children and offer opportunities that develop important life skills such as:
- Independence
- Creativity and critical thinking
- The ability to manage risk
- To positively embrace challenge and change
- To communicate confidently and effectively
- To realise and achieve their full potential
‘RESPECT, RESPONSIBLE AND READY’
“Pupils live up to the school’s values of ‘Respect, Responsible and Ready’.” (OFSTED Nov 2023)
We strive for all pupils to be tolerant, kind and caring citizens and as a school we have three values that we feel encapsulate this:
- RESPECT: For yourself
For others
For your environment
- RESPONSIBLE: For yourself
For others
For your environment
- READY: To listen
To learn
To help yourself and others
These values not only link closely to our School Behaviour Policy but reflect our responsibility to promote British Values.
